Introduction

I started this blog for a number of reasons.  The biggest one is to address the silliness I often run into at work.  As a young engineer I often find it that the more senior engineers are a little stuck in their ways.  I am not saying that the new guy knows better but sometimes the senior guy doesn't either.  Rather then become the complainer at work, I will discuss the issues I run into here.

Case in point there is a big difference between does it work on the drawing and will it work in real life.  I recently had a situation where the senior guy didn't quite understand what he was asking for.  Yes I did the GDT and it works on the drawing.  Its a much harder question to answer will it bolt together with 5 times the tolerance I specified.  Unfortunately the schedule didn't leave time for another 22 week casting iteration for the vendor to get it right.  Moral of the story is simply the drawing and real life are very different.
